Coloring Pages- In coloring pages are always helpful for the preschool kids and the young elementary kids. This site has a ton of coloring pages.
Check-In/ Security Labels- Security for our kids has to be a top priority. This system is an affordable way to monitor your children’s ministry dismissal process.
Movie Reviews- I am very careful in deciding what movies to play for kids at church. This site has helped me to determine what movies may be appropriate.
Parent’s Newsletter- Creating a monthly newsletter was always a goal, but it seemed unrealistic to be able to make the time for it. This is an affordable way to eliminate the work, but still get a quality newsletter.
Illustrated Bibles- Affordable Bibles that are relevant to kids are hard to find. I prefer the NIRV because it is written on a 3rd graders reading level. These New Testament Bibles are $2 each plus shipping. We give them to every child who attends our small groups.
Elevate DVD Curriculum- This is the curriculum that I will be using thro9ughout the summer and probably every summer. During the summer time I find it hard to get a rhythm because so many families are on vacation, and you don’t always get the regulars each week. With this dynamic it because hard to have lessons that build on each other from week to week. I have found that Elevate can build from week to week with it’s well developed themes, but the lessons also can stand alone. Check it out. You can purchase the DVDs for $10 each.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY GAMES that I have played to fill time during a long service, or during one of those extra nights of childcare when you didn’t have much time to plan are listed below. They have saved me many times!
Bible Bingo- its nothing fancy, but the kids love it because they can win prizes. It it just like regular bingo, except rather than B-I-N-G-O we use J-E-S1-U-S2, and rather than numbers, we use the books of the Bible. Pastor Cal, our former children’s pastor created this when we were having special services lasting over 5 hours night after night.
Dodgeball- If you have the space, this can be hours of fun for the kids.
Poop Deck- Sounds gross huh? The kids love it, and you can run them until they are exhausted.
